A dark gull, very small in size, compare with the probable Caspian (or YLG?) beside.
The mantle and scapulars colour seems to be good for a 3cy heuglini in Mar but are there females of this race with such a small size? More pictures:
Gulls on the island of Crete, Greece. Several species winter, seen during migration and two species breed. The ID problem in some individuals made me to create this blog but I will also put pictures of "known" ones and more informations about their behaviour, distribution and general status. Lookin to the external Primary, the Caspian is in Fact a michahellis, as it's pattern is tipical of michahellis, without the classic long pale tongue along it of the adult cachinans
Based on the bill and the season I think it is not a full adult, so for me still difficult to tell between cacchinnans-michahellis. Is primary pattern enough?
